Nic is Head of Conservation Education and Communications at the Ocean Conservation Trust based at the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, UK.
She has always been drawn to the sea and has wanted to take care of it, as well as encouraging others to think about their relationship with the Ocean.
As a conservation biologist she is passionate about changing the narrative about what constitutes conservation. Everyone on the planet is responsible for the health of the natural world that sustains us, protecting habitats and species in many cases is just a question of human behaviour. As EMSEA President she has used her passion for working with the wider Ocean Literacy community across Europe and beyond to help people to learn about, love and protect our Ocean. She is part of the UK ‘We Are Oceans’ group.
