EMSEA 2017 took place in the heart of the Mediterranean, to the European capital of culture, Valetta, founded by the knights of Malta in 1566
 
Oral presentations were on the following themes:

  • The digital age of Ocean Literacy;
  • Oceans and Human Health;
  • Future scenarios and roles for Ocean Literacy
