EMSEA continues to seek out new ways to connect and inspire the Marine Science Education community across Europe and beyond. In these challenging times we are looking to further our impact and look for innovative ways to spread our message and vision. We want to broaden and grow our membership further and involve existing and new members more closely in our activities.
To help us achieve this we currently have vacancies for at least two new board members.  If you are interested in joining our team please email us with a current CV and short letter outlining why you would like to join the board and what skills and experience you think you could bring.
We welcome applications from members with a passion for ocean literacy and marine science and education regardless of your background. We would particularly value applications from non-UK members and those with an interest in how we can broaden EMSEA's influence in Europe outside of an English-speaking format. We are also interested in people with skills in communications, marketing, fund-raising, networking and social media and those who are experienced in delivering events and training in different and radical ways (including in virtual and online platforms).
Keen to join this crew? then email EMSEA Secretary: mark.ward@emsea.eu before Monday 13th July.
EU4Ocean news
Currently EMSEA is now a founding member of the EU4Ocean Platform, a hub for organisations and initiatives to connect, collaborate and mobilise efforts on ocean literacy.
In this Platform, EMSEA develops the Network of European Blue Schools where students embark on a journey to discover the ocean and its value.
The 1st #EU4Ocean platform meeting that took place on 18th June had over 90 participants from different sectors and background expressing their motivation to work together to advance #oceanliteracy in #Europe

The spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) has a bigger and bigger influence on this year’s events. EMSEA has taken the decision to postpone this year’s conference in Poland to September 2021. While hugely disappointing, this feels the best course of action to keep you all as safe as possible at a time of universal uncertainty.
We will be working with our host the Gydynia Aquarium to finalize the details and will share more information about our plans for 2020 and 2021 in the coming months.
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you at one of our next events online.

If you wish to support the work of EMSEA and join our community of marine educators and scientists then you can become a member for 40 euro a year. Please go to the Membership page.
