Mediterranean Sea Literacy: When Ocean Literacy becomes region-specific
Based on the US Ocean Literacy framework, marine scientists and educators developed the “Mediterranean Sea Literacy” (MSL) guide adapted to the specificities of the Mediterranean region. The MSL principles (7) and concepts (43), serving as guidance for research, education, informed decision-making, and improved citizens’ lifestyles, aim to contribute to environmental protection, conservation, and restoration of the Mediterranean Sea as well as to help to achieve a blue innovative and sustainable economy.

The spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) has a bigger and bigger influence on this year’s events. EMSEA has taken the decision to postpone this year’s conference in Poland to September 2021. While hugely disappointing, this feels the best course of action to keep you all as safe as possible at a time of universal uncertainty.
We will be working with our host the Gydynia Aquarium to finalize the details and will share more information about our plans for 2020 and 2021 in the coming months.
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you at one of our next events online.

If you wish to support the work of EMSEA and join our community of marine educators and scientists then you can become a member for 40 euro a year. Please go to the Membership page.
